  1. Releasing Wonder Days back in , the original team, with Chris Childs on bass since , seems to have caught a second wind as they jump into with their eleventh studio album, Rip It Up. Released in the UK as of February 10th and set for release on April 21st in the US, Rip It Up aims at pushing Thunder beyond all limits, literally.
  2. Jan 27,  · Thunder, as the title of their latest outing suggests, Rip It Up and then some. 27 years in and Danny Bowes and his London/Brighton quintet still don’t understand that they should be considered “old school” by now. Given that this is an album of exceptional freshness, wit and diversity they’re clearly not getting the message one bit.
  3. Smash it, rip it up Rip it up, rip it up Come out the shade into the sun And don't look back until it's done, 'til it's done If you're not where you want to be Your vision's solid gold but no one wants to see Want to see, yeah Don't bow to it, plough on through it Turn the volume up When you're fenced in by perception Smash it, rip it up Don't.

  7. Feb 10,  · When the Thunder unleashes a straight ahead rocker like "Shakedown" or "Tumbling Down" you can see yourself fist pumping along with the rhythmic delivery of each song. The two best songs on Rip It Up for me were the songs that not only rocked out but had a slightly harder edged sound than the other faster paced songs/5().

  9. The claims that Thunder are bigger, better and harder than before are indeed born out by their new CD ‘Rip It Up’, but the inevitable hype almost misses the point. Yes, the album is excellent, but the real reason for Thunder’s successful return is their own indefatigable spirit which never settles for complacency.
